Resume:

ABOUT

I am an engineer and designer who specializes in interactive exhibits. I am excited by the potential of interactive and immersive art to make us question our perceptions and play like kids again.

I graduated in 2020 from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a certificate in Innovation, Product Design, and Entrepreneurship, and a focus in Creative Writing. While in school, I discovered my love for design and digital fabrication. I was a founding member of Pitt's digital fabrication makerspace and started X-Projects. X-Projects are student-run projects that allow teams to take on design and fabrication work from faculty members and outside sponsors. These projects included Dear You, the LED Interactive, and IHITS (all of which are featured in my portfolio).

After college, I worked as a Senior Project Mechanical Engineer at Lutron. In my first role with Lutron, I worked on the Existing Product Support team for the smart window shades business. I learned how to design for manufacturing and about ergonomic tool design. I then was transferred to a manufacturing facility where I led plant improvement projects and coordinated new product launches. Here I learned how to effectively design assembly processes (a skill that came in handy when we needed to fabricate 650 interactive flowers for Cool Cats). At Lutron, I strengthened the engineering foundation that I bring to my creative work.

In my role at Aardvark Studios, I was involved in every step of the tech integration process for a wide variety of interactive experiences. My work included kinetic sculptures,  escape room puzzles, children's museum exhibits, and lots of strange one-of-a-kind projects. I was involved in sourcing materials, coding, electrical design, wiring, and intense week-long installs. I also built strong soft skills and am adept at inter-team communication.

Currently, I work as a mechanical engineer at Strella, a startup that designs and manufactures sensors to track fruit ripening and reduce food waste. My day-to-day involves microcontroller programming, mechanical design, electrical system/PCB design and lots of bananas.

I love to take on new challenges so if you have one, let's talk!
